Lots to update!

Life has been so crazy lately, I have not been very good at getting the blog updated, so this might be a really long entry.  Cora Leigh is continuing to be so much fun!  She randomly started sticking her tongue out sometime around June 14th.  It is so cute - she will also transition from the tongue sticking out to pouching out her bottom lip.  Here are some pics!

About that same time, we decided to see if she would support herself on our ottoman.  She did great!  She really enjoyed trying to pull off the photo albums.  :)

Cora also celebrated her 9-month birthday June 16th.  We got some cute pictures, but the sign announcing her age didn't last very long, as you can see in the pictures.  She also found a fun cat toy while I was getting the picture stuff set up.  :)

It was also a beautiful morning, so we did some outdoor pictures too!  She loved looking at the flowers and feeling the grass.  Luckily, she didn't eat any grass...at least not yet.

Cora has also discovered that our maracas are a lot of fun to play.  We were reading about maracas in one of her educational books, and so I got out the ones we had bought in the Dominican Republic.  I didn't let her eat them....not sure where that paint has been.  :)

Jeremy and I had thought that we were going to be spending Father's Day just the two of us, but as it turns out, my dad was actually off work for the weekend, so we had company!  Aunt Mandy came up on Thursday, and Grandma and Grandpa came up on Friday.  We also had the Willmarth's and our friend Amy Waters over Sunday afternoon to celebrate.  We had a really fun weekend!  Cora started waving over Father's Day weekend too.  :)  (Random side note: Cora and I went shopping briefly this afternoon, and the fitting room I was in had three mirrors.  Every time she saw me or herself in one of them, she would get excited and wave!  It was adorable.)  Here are some pics from the weekend.

Since Father's Day weekend, life has been pretty crazy around here.  Our cat, Pudge, has been sick.  We took him to the vet and he had a high fever.  They did a series of tests, and found out that it was something with his liver.  Oh, and he had an ear infection too - both ears - but they didn't think that was the problem.  After going to see an internist (I never thought I was one of those crazy pet owners....), it's been determined that it is most likely hepatitis.  To know for sure, they would have to do a liver biopsy - about a $1,000 procedure.  We're not that crazy, so we're treating it as bacterial hepatitis, and if it doesn't seem to get better, we'll change our strategy and treat it as autoimmune hepatitis.  It seemed like we were going to the vet (which is across town) everyday to check Pudge's temperature and give him fluids.  But, finally, it seems he is getting better.  We have to go back in a week to check his liver enzymes one more time.

In the meantime, we were also preparing for the neighborhood yard sale.  We did not do well.  We're in the back of the neighborhood, so I think people just weren't coming back here.  We figured it up, and I think we made (at the most) $4.00 per hour if you divide it between Jeremy and I.  Oh, well.  We got rid of some stuff.  Jeremy got some cute pictures of Cora after she had eaten her prunes that afternoon.

Cora has also been cutting her 2nd tooth, so she has been crankier than usual, particularly the past two days.  It has finally poked through the gum, and she doesn't seem to be in as much pain now.  It won't be long until you'll be seeing 2 little teeth in her pictures!  To wrap up, here are a couple of pictures of Cora from this morning.  She kept pulling out her shirt and looking down it - so cute!

Weekend Fun

We got to spend some time with our friends, the Waldroup's, the last couple of weekends.  Here is a picture of Cora and Joshua playing at their house last week and then some of us playing Rock Band with them and our friend Amy.  You can see that Joshua really helped Dana out on the drums.  She was forced to play with one stick and occasionally had a helper.  :)

Last Sunday, Cora was laying in the floor next to my sandals and managed to put both of her feet through the ankle straps.  I promise she did this all by herself!  She did not have any help from us.

This afternoon we put Cora in her swimming pool for the first time!  It was quite overcast outside, but we decided to go ahead and give it a try.  She had a blast!

We also took a video:

This afternoon when Cora was jumping in her jumperoo, I kept squeezing her thigh and she was doing this adorable forced laugh/growl thing!  It was too cute not to take a video of:  :)

Memorial Day Weekend

Jeremy and I took advantage of the long weekend, and went home to visit family over Memorial Day.  Jeremy took off Friday and Tuesday, which gave us a good amount of time to visit...though it still never seems long enough.  We started at Nana and Papaw's house.  We celebrated Nana's birthday and went to a fish fry at their church.  Other than that, we just hung out and had fun.  Here are some pics from that part of the trip:

We also got to see Brad, Brooke, and Jillian at church Sunday morning!

Then we spent a couple of days with my family.  We were surprised to get to see my Aunt Jo and cousin, Chris.  They joined us for lunch on Sunday as well as my grandfather.  We went disc golfing Sunday evening, but unfortunately got rained out.  Monday, we were able to go visit my grandmother in the nursing home, got to visit some with my other grandmother, and spent some quality family time together playing with the babies and playing games after the babies were in bed.  Tuesday it was back to Lexington!  Here are some pictures from the visit with my family.

Here are some pictures of Cora Leigh in her car seat on our way back to Lexington.  She's started scrunching up her nose, which is the cutest thing!  You can also see her first tooth coming in!
