Snow Day and Other Stuff

On Friday night, though it seemed like the snow was never going to get here, we eventually got 4 inches of snow at our house. We bundled Cora Leigh up and took her out to see the snow. She didn't seem to be very impressed. She just thought it was bright outside. :) Here are some pics of her experience.

Here are some other recent pics:

Jeremy put Cora's jumperoo together. She loves to stand up in our laps, so we thought she would really enjoy it. She's not quite big enough yet though. Not only did she sit down really low, she also couldn't reach the ground. We got a stool so she would be able to stand up, but she decided to kick back and relax instead. :)

Here's a pretty smile!

Cora's 4-month Birthday and Checkup

Cora Leigh's 4-month birthday was a week ago Saturday (the 16th), and yes, I am just now getting pictures up. :) We just had her checkup and shots this afternoon. Cora officially weighed in at 13 lbs, 15 oz and 24.25 inches long. Her weight was in the 45th percentile, and her height was in the 38th percentile. She does have her daddy's head - her head circumference was in the 70th percentile. :) Dr. Gillespie said that she looked perfect! Everything about her was just great. She is growing really well, so she's going to continue on a breast-milk diet until she reaches 6 months. She didn't enjoy her shots much at all (nor did I), but we all survived. So far, she has been handling this round of shots much better. Hopefully it won't be too bad a night tonight. Below are some pictures from the last couple of weeks.

We start with her 4-month birthday picture - she is wearing the sweater dress and leggings that her Uncle John and Auntie Amy bought her.

This picture is from a couple of days ago. Cora really enjoys her bouncer these days. She loves to pull the rings and make herself bounce!

Mom and Dad came up to visit MLK weekend. We had blueberry pancakes for breakfast. Cora Leigh was ready to eat!

Cora really likes her mommy's new glasses. She took them off of me the other day.

I decided she should try them on. :)

Cora Leigh was watching her mommy make some homemade noodles the other day - it looked like she was trying to escape from her bumbo!

Here are a couple of pics from MLK weekend when Grandma and Grandpa were visiting! First up is Cora Leigh with her grandpa.

Isn't this outfit adorable?!? Gotta love the Mary Jane tights.

Cora Leigh Talking

I was able to catch Cora talking on camera. After numerous attempts to upload the video, I ended up having to divide the video into 2 parts and reformat it from HD to SD. What a pain! Anyhow, I hope you enjoy the videos. I have also included a picture of Cora's latest explosion. Jeremy never seems to be home for those, so at his request I tried to capture the grossness in a picture. Too bad I can't add scents! :)

Christmas Vacation

We had a wonderful Christmas vacation! We got to spend a week and a half in Tennessee visiting with friends and family that we don't get to see often enough. Jeremy also got to meet our niece, Hayden, for the first time. We started our trip in Birchwood where we had our Christmas celebrations with Jeremy's family. We then spent some time celebrating with my family. We spent Christmas with my dad's family at the nursing home this year so that my grandmother could be included in the festivities. She also got to meet Hayden for the first time, and she still loved Cora Leigh! I was also able to be home to celebrate my birthday. After my birthday, we were back to Birchwood to spend more time with Jeremy's family. We made a couple of trips to Chattanooga - one to celebrate Christmas with my mom's family at cousin Amy's house and one to get together with Jeremy's old friends from high school. We had a fun time getting together with everyone! We finally finished our trip with my family where we loaded up the cats, the dog, as many gifts as we could, and headed back to Lexington. I'm glad to report that we were able to make it back to Lexington without any major problems.

Below is a slide show of pictures from our trip. If you want to see the pictures larger, you can click on the pictures and it will take you to the picasa website.

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday!
